2020 Mock Draft 2.0

Here is my Mock Draft 2.0 which I am very excited to release. This is my first time adding a second round to my mock draft along with my first projected trade as well. There are several changes I have made from my first mock draft and hopefully by adding the second round it makes sense as to why I have made some changes for certain teams. Please enjoy my analysis and reasoning for my first-round picks and I will sprinkle in some analysis for a couple of second round picks.

*Note: These picks are made based on what I think the teams should pick from what I have been reading and watching from these players highlights and games from last college football season along with what each team needs to improve for the upcoming season. I also take into consideration what many other NFL Insiders have to say as they have been talking to scouts and team personnel and get a good feel for what each team is thinking. These are my thoughts after compiling results by watching the pre-draft process unfold this year, which can include the combine, watching highlights from the previous college football season, watching the NFL season closely last season, and even some previous mock drafts from experts in the field such as ESPN and NFL Network. I hope you enjoy.

I have put an asterisk mark (*) next to teams that I have changed their pick since Mock Draft 1.0. Teams that have the same pick will have similar reasoning to why I chose to match them with that team but I’ll try to add a little as to why it stayed the same.

Teams without a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft due to a trade: Pittsburgh Steelers (to the Dolphins in the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade), Chicago Bears (to the Raiders in the Khalil Mack trade two seasons ago), Los Angeles Rams (to the Jaguars in the Jalen Ramsey trade), Houston Texans (to the Dolphins, in the Larmey Tunsil trade), Indianapolis Colts (to the 49ers in the trade for Deforest Buckner), Buffalo Bills (to the Vikings in the trade for Stefon Diggs).

Round 1

  1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB – LSU
    • Team Needs: QB, Pass Rusher, IOL, LB
    • This pick isn’t going to change for me, even though the hype for Tua Tagovailoa is starting to ramp up since he’s been medically cleared from his hip injury. Burrow had an absolutely historic college football season last year. 60 passing touchdowns last year is just the surface statistic that makes this guy great. 2nd year head coach Zac Taylor will be excited to bring in his own QB to coach and with Burrow at the helm throwing to AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, John Ross and Joe Mixon in the, well mix, this offense has some weapons to work with. With last year’s first round pick offensive tackle Jonah Williams healthy too, this Bengals offense could start to look a lot better. Still a lot of holes on the team, but Burrow is a great start.
  2. Washington Redskins: Chase Young, Pass Rusher – Ohio St.
    • Team Needs: OT, Pass Rusher, CB TE
    • Same with pick number two here for the Redskins. Young is possibly the best overall player in this entire draft and even with the rumors of the Redskins drafting another QB in back to back first rounds, Young should be the pick. I watched him beat up on my Wisconsin Badgers, TWICE this past college football season, so when NFL scouts are saying this guy is the surefire real deal, I can agree with them after seeing what he did to the Badgers offensive line. New head Ron Rivera can hang his hat on having one of the best pass rushing teams in the NFL with Young on one side, last year’s first round pick Montez Sweat on the other side and the Alabama boys up the middle. That’s going to be a tough group to slow down.
  3. Detroit Lions: Jeffrey Okudah, CB – Ohio St.
    • Team Needs: CB, LB, IOL, S
    • My first three picks stay the same from mock draft 1.0. The Lions traded away top cornerback Darius Slay to the Philadelphia Eagles and lucky enough for them, they are able to replace him right away with Okudah here from Ohio St. Even if they didn’t trade away Slay this may have been the way to go as their secondary really need some help opposite Slay, but now it’s going to be Okudah and recently signed Desmond Trufant so Detroit’s secondary could turn into a plus for them.
  4. *New York Giants: Isaiah Simmons, LB – Clemson
    • Team Needs: OT, LB, Pass Rusher, WR
    • Here we go, first change from Mock Draft 1.0. Dave Gettleman is going to be enticed to take one of the top offensive tackles to protect Daniel Jones, but this draft has a lot of quality tackles and they can grab one early in the second round. Simmons can do it all for this Giants defense that needs a lot of help and he’ll be the X-factor that they have been looking for. He can matchup with tight ends and running backs, blitz the quarterback, drop back as a safety in coverage, cover the field sideline to sideline and patrol the middle of field. He can do almost everything the Giants need him to do on defense and really plugs a lot of holes they have.
  5. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB – Alabama
    • Team Needs: QB, OT, Pass Rusher, RB
    • This should be the Dolphins guy but the only question is, will he fall to them at the number 5 pick? The Chargers are a team that may be looking ahead of them to grab Tagovailoa as well so they may also have to move up to grab him. Either way Tagovailoa may have been in the discussion for the number 1 overall pick had he not injured his hip this past season. He may be able to sit a year behind Ryan Fitzpatrick as well so this is a good landing spot for Tua as Miami has spent a lot in free agency this offseason to improve all the holes this team has.
  6. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB – Oregon
    • Team Needs: QB, OT, LB, RB
    • The Chargers then end up with Herbert after both Burrow and Tagovailoa are taken ahead of them. Not a bad consolation prize whatsoever. Herbert is a mobile quarterback with a big arm that can learn behind Tyrod Taylor for now even though I think the Chargers should sign Cam Newton and have him be their starter for 2-3 years. The Chargers missed out on Tom Brady in free agency as well so they need to find their quarterback for the future and Herbert fits that mold. He’s got a big arm which is something teams love from these young quarterbacks coming out of college, who can make all the throws but may just need a little time to develop.
  7. *Carolina Panthers: Derrick Brown, DT – Auburn
    • Team Needs: DT, LB, Pass Rusher, CB
    • With Isaiah Simmons now off the board to the Giants, the Panthers fill another huge hole on this team at the defensive tackle position with Derrick Brown. The Panthers lost all their depth and stars on the defensive line to free agency this year. Gerald McCoy, Dontari Poe, Vernon Butler, Mario Addison all with other teams now. Brown can plug up the middle of the Panthers defense and get after the quarterback as well, not just stuff the run. This is the first step to rebuilding their defense and it’s a pretty good first step.
  8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OT – Iowa
    • Team Needs: OT, DT, IOL, LB
    • This pick doesn’t change for me either as the Cardinals addressed one of their main needs in a big way by trading for DeAndre Hopkins and stealing him from the Texans. Now they have to give Kyler Murray time so he can get the ball to Hopkins down the field. Wirfs may potentially be the best offensive lineman in this draft and showing off his athleticism at the combine will show that he can create space for possibly the most active QB in the NFL. This Cardinals offense is going to be scary; I think.
  9. *Jacksonville Jaguars: Javon Kinlaw, DT – South Carolina
    • Team Needs: DT, CB, WR, S
    • The Jaguars who once had one of the better defenses in the NFL, now have a lot of holes to fill on that side of the ball. With Derrick Brown already gone to the Panthers, the Jaguars can replace Calais Campbell (who they traded to the Ravens) with the 1b defensive tackle in this class, Javon Kinlaw. Kinlaw can take over a game on the defensive line and will be able to slow down the opposing teams running game. He will also be able to open up lanes for newly acquired linebacker Joe Schobert to make plays as well.
  10. *Cleveland Browns: Mekhi Becton, OT – Louisville
    • Team Needs: OT, DT, LB, S
    • Same position different player for the Browns. They have made big splashes this offseason, (again) but this time a little less flashy in the signings of OT Jack Conklin and TE Austin Hooper. Just because they signed Conklin doesn’t mean their offensive line is set. Adding the 6’8”, 360-pound, super athletic Mecki Becton out of Louisville really takes care of the two ends of the offensive line for Cleveland who have been looking for a way to replace Joe Thomas since he retired. Becton will be in charge of protecting Baker Mayfield’s blindside and it isn’t going to be easy for anyone to get around this mammoth of a man.
  11. *New York Jets: Jedrick Wills, OT – Alabama
    • Team Needs: OT, WR, Pass Rusher, CB
    • In my first mock draft I gave the Jets a wide receiver to help out Sam Darnold, but since this is such a deep class of wide receivers, I think the Jets will be able to grab a top tier receiver in the 2nd So, the other way to help out Sam Darnold is to keep him upright and protected. The Jets went for quantity over quality in free agency on the offensive line but now they can solidify the left tackle position with Wills. Wills can not only help out Darnold but LeVeon Bell might actually have a much more productive season with Wills leading the way.
  12. Las Vegas Raiders: Jerry Jeudy, WR – Alabama
    • Team Needs: WR, CB, DT, QB, LB
    • The now Las Vegas Raiders thought they solved their offensive weapons last offseason when they traded for Antonio Brown last offseason but we saw how that all went down. Jeudy is quite possibly the best receiver in this draft class and would be the number one option for Derek Carr immediately. He could help round out the offense that already has Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow, Tyrell Williams and a good offensive line. Jeudy would be a perfect match for Jon Gruden and the Raiders.
  13. *San Francisco 49ers (via Indianapolis Colts): CeeDee Lamb, WR – Oklahoma
    • Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, IOL
    • With Kinlaw now gone to the Jaguars the 49ers can upgrade their offensive and somehow unlock another level with CeeDee Lamb. With the departure of Emmanuel Sanders to the Saints there is a need for a wide receiver and why not grab the most dynamic receiver in this year’s draft. Lamb, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and whoever they want at running back is more than enough for Kyle Shanahan to get creative with and Lamb but actually be option 1b behind Kittle which seems unfair to have a Super Bowl team grab a player of this caliber. The 49ers won’t have questions about Jimmy G this upcoming season if Lamb has anything to say about it.
  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Andrew Thomas, OT – Georgia
    • Team Needs: OT, DT, IOL, RB
    • If the Buccaneers can come away with one of the top 4 offensive tackles in this draft, they should consider it a very successful offseason after they won the lottery signing Tom Brady to the 2-year $50 million dollar deal. Now they are obviously in win now mode and need to make the most of this time. That means giving 43-year-old Tom Brady some protection and time to throw to his new weapons of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Andrew Thomas is a 3-year starter out of Georgia so he can come in and stabilize their right tackle position immediately. The way to utilize and preserve Tom Brady is to make sure he takes as few hits as possible. Thomas is among the best tackles in this draft and can help do just that for the Buccaneers.
  15. Denver Broncos: Henry Ruggs, WR – Alabama
    • Team Needs: WR, CB, OT, LB
    • No change here as Henry Ruggs still falls to the Broncos after making it past all of the Jaguars, Jets, Raiders, and 49ers. The Broncos are going to be a much-improved team in 2020 as long as Drew Lock takes a nice step forward in his progression. They added nice pieces on defensive side of the ball in cornerback A.J. Bouye from Jacksonville, Jurrell Casey from the Titans and signed Melvin Gordon to a reasonable contract on offense. Now they can give Lock another weapon on offense and how about the fastest man in this year’s draft, Henry Ruggs? He can take the top off any defense and this gives the Broncos quite the young core offensively in Drew Lock, Courtland Sutton and Henry Ruggs.
  16. *Atlanta Falcons: CJ Henderson, CB – Florida
    • Team Needs: Pass Rusher, CB, DT, IOL
    • I’m sure you’ve seen by now that the Falcons have a first rounder at every position on offense. Now it’s time to put some capital into the defense. Look at the quarterbacks in their division now with Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Teddy Bridgewater. They signed pass rusher Dante Fowler this offseason but the lost Desmond Trufant to the Lions so they need a lot of help in the secondary if they want to have any chance against the QBs in their division. Henderson is a very fluid and athletic corner who can come into Atlanta and be their number 1 lockdown guy the only concern is his tackling ability. He has all the other traits of a number 1 corner and will be a hopefully be a huge addition to Dan Quinn’s defense.
  17. *Dallas Cowboys: Jeff Gladney, CB – TCU
    • Team Needs: CB, IOL, TE, DE
    • With Henderson off the board the Cowboys go to the next best cornerback on their board after they lost Byron Jones to the Dolphins in free agency this offseason. Gladney may be a little undersized but he makes up for it with his speed and quickness. He positions himself nicely so that he doesn’t get taken advantage of by bigger receivers but he is one of the better man to man cover corners in this draft and will fill the hole that Byron Jones left behind.
  18. *Miami Dolphins (via Pittsburgh Steelers): K’Lavion Chaisson, Pass Rusher – LSU
    • Team Needs: QB, OT, Pass Rusher, RB
    • This would be a fantastic get for the Dolphins with their 2nd first round pick. They have a big need at pass rusher and Chaisson may be the second best in this draft class. Chaisson may lack the ideal size but his speed, quickness and flexibility allow him to bend around and get to the quarterback. With the most expensive secondary in the NFL the Dolphins now can have someone take advantage of the QB holding onto the ball for an extra second and rack up more sacks for this defense.
  19. Las Vegas Raiders (via Chicago Bears): Kristian Fulton, CB – LSU
    • Team Needs: WR, CB, DT, QB
    • Same position different player for the Raiders who have spent a lot of money this offseason on the inside linebacker position which was a big need for this team and they fill it with Cory Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski. The Raiders also got their weapon with their first pick in Jerry Jeudy, now they need a guy who can cover the other teams’ weapons on offense. They signed Eli Apple this offseason but the position could still use a lot of work and that is where Fulton comes in. Fulton is an aggressive corner who doesn’t have elite speed but his intangibles allow him to make plays in the secondary. I think his aggressiveness will be something that attracts Mike Mayock to him which will be a reason he wants him on his roster.
  20. *Jacksonville Jaguars (via Los Angeles Rams): Xavier McKinney, S – Alabama
    • Team Needs: DT, S, CB, WR
    • So, we took care of the loss of Calais Campbell with the Jaguars first pick in this draft, now we need to replace the losses of Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye in the secondary. Xavier McKinney is another one of those very versatile players in this draft who can play more than one position on any defense. He can patrol the backend of the secondary, he can come up and be their nickel defender and can also play stout against the run. McKinney can replace a lot of production lost by both Ramsey and Bouye and would be a great start to rebuilding this one dominant defense.
  21. Philadelphia Eagles: Justin Jefferson, WR – LSU
    • Team Needs: WR, CB, LB, S
    • This may still be one of the easier picks in my mock draft, and should be an easy pick for the Eagles if Jefferson is available at pick 21. The Eagles have done a fantastic job upgrading their secondary which I thought was their biggest weakness last season by trading for Darius Slay and adding Nickell Roby-Coleman. Now they need to give Carson Wentz some help on offense. Justin Jefferson had a fantastic year with Joe Burrow at LSU last year catching over 110 passes, over 1,500 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns, incredible. He eliminated any doubt that teams had about his speed at the combine and the Eagles would immediately have a new number one receiver if they drafted Jefferson.
  22. *Minnesota Vikings (via Buffalo Bills): Denzel Mims, WR – Baylor
    • Team Needs: CB, DT, WR, OT
    • The Vikings traded away Stefon Diggs this offseason for this pick from the Buffalo Bills, and here they can grab another receiver to pair with Adam Thielen for Kirk Cousins. Mims has had a fantastic pre-draft process especially at the combine where he displayed a ton of athleticism and I think had everyone go take a second look at his film tape. He’s been one of the top risers this draft and continues to climb for me to the middle of the first round.
  23. *New England Patriots: Zach Baun, OLB – Wisconsin
    • Team Needs: TE, IOL, QB, Pass Rusher
    • The Patriots, uncommonly, have a lot of holes to fill on this team. Obviously with the loss of Tom Brady they won’t be able to cover as many of those problems but the defense lost a lot of depth along the defensive line and linebacking core. With the versatile Xavier McKinney already taken, the Patriots go with another versatile player on defense in Zach Baun. Baun’s versatility will be something the Patriots can utilize on defense where he can get after the quarterback and can also drop back into coverage with his athleticism if you need him to. He can also play inside linebacker if needed so his versatility will be something Bill Belichick can really appreciate.
  24. New Orleans Saints: Patrick Queen, LB – LSU
    • Team Needs: IOL, LB, WR, DT
    • No change here for the Saints as Drew Brees is back in the fold so they can hold off on the quarterback prospect for at least one more year. They are still in win now mode and one of the few needs on this team is a middle linebacker. Queen can be that off ball linebacker that everyone in the NFL is looking for these days. He is an aggressive run defender but he also has the speed to play in coverage whether that be running backs coming out of the backfield or tight ends on the line of scrimmage. This is the kind of linebacker everyone is looking for these days. Teams need more than just tackles from their middle linebackers. They need coverage skills in this passing league, and Queen fits that bill perfectly.
  25. *Minnesota Vikings: Trevon Diggs, CB – Alabama
    • Team Needs: CB, DT, WR, OT
    • The Vikings are losing three players in their secondary to free agency such as Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander. They are going to need to start replacing some of those losses and they can start right here with Diggs. Diggs is a bigger more aggressive corner who can handle the big wide receivers in this league and won’t get pushed around. Trevon, the younger brother of wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who recently got traded to the Bills, came to Alabama as a wide receiver before converting to the defensive side so he has great ball skills as well which makes him a very appealing cornerback in this draft.
  26. *Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans): Austin Jackson, OT – USC
    • Team Needs: QB, OT, Pass Rusher, RB
    • The Dolphins third pick in the first round has to go to protecting their new quarterback that they took with their first pick in this draft. With the top 4 offensive tackles off the board in Wirfs, Becton, Wills and Thomas the Dolphins have to pick from the next crop of tackles. Jackson may have the most upside in the next group and would be a great start to rebuilding the Dolphins offensive line which desperately needs help as they tied for the most sacks allowed with 58 last season. Jackson allowed only 4 sacks all of last season and will be the one in charge of protecting whoever the new quarterback is that the Dolphins end up taking which in this scenario is Tua Tagovailoa.
  27. *Seattle Seahawks: Yetur Gross-Matos, DE – Penn St.
    • Team Needs: Pass Rusher, OT, DT, S
    • It doesn’t look like Jadeveon Clowney will be returning to the Seahawks this upcoming season so there going to have to find someone to get after the quarterback in this draft. Seattle was second to last in the NFL last year in team sacks with 28 so even if they brought back Clowney the need for more pass rushers was still a need. Gross-Matos racked up 17.5 sacks the past two seasons at Penn St. and has upside in his game as well.
  28. Baltimore Ravens: Kenneth Murray, LB – Oklahoma
    • Team Needs: LB, Pass Rusher, S, IOL
    • This pick doesn’t change for the Ravens who somehow got the Jaguars to give them Calais Campbell for only a 5th round pick, but they still have one more hole to fill on the defense. They still haven’t replaced inside linebacker CJ Mosely who left last offseason for a big payday with the New York Jets. Now they get their replacement and he may be better suited in coverage than Mosely was too. You saw the Ravens get torn apart by Derrick Henry in the AFC divisional game and their 14-2 season came to an abrupt end. Insert Campbell and Murray and their run defense looks a lot more ready for their next encounter with a top tier running back.
  29. *Tennessee Titans: AJ Epensa, DE – Iowa
    • Team Needs: OT, Pass Rusher, DT, RB
    • The Titans had a couple big losses this offseason, most notably OT Jack Conklin who signed with the Browns and DT Jurrell Casey who they traded to the Broncos. They could go offensive line here to replace Conklin but I think the Titans like what they have in reserve tackle Dennis Kelly, who they resigned to a new 3 year contract this offseason. They can replace Jurrell Casey with last year’s first round pick Jeffery Simmons. With that, the best player available is AJ Epensa who can help along the depleted defensive line. Epensa has been falling a little in this draft after testing poorly at the combine but I think the fall stops here with the Titans.
  30. *Green Bay Packers: Josh Jones, OT – Houston
    • Team Needs: WR, LB, OT, DT
    • I gave the Packers a receiver in my first mock draft but I think the same thing applies to the Packers here as the Jets. With it being such a deep class of wide receivers, the Packers can fill other needs with this pick and still get a top tier receiver at pick 62, which I’ve done here in this Mock Draft. The Packers let longtime right tackle Bryan Bulaga sign with the Chargers this offseason and signed Rick Wagner for his short-term replacement. The key being short term and priority one for the Packers should be protecting Aaron Rodgers. Jones played left tackle at Houston but could be the long-term solution for the Packers at right tackle opposite of Bakhtiari. He could take over for Wagner at some point in the season and help solidify the Packers offensive line and give them excellent depth. If the right receiver falls to the Packers at 30, I think they may go that route also with lack of weapons, except Davante Adams and Aaron Jones, around Rodgers. If the Packers really want to go the route of receiver and they think 30 is too high for him they could also look to trade back to the beginning of the 2nd round and add a few more picks. But in this exercise, I think the Packers adding Josh Jones is a great addition to solidify an offensive line that is on the border of being a top ten unit in the NFL.
  31. *TRADE* Indianapolis Colts (via San Francisco 49ers): Jordan Love, QB – Utah
    • Team Needs: QB, WR, DE, CB
    • This is the first time I’ve ever projected a trade in a mock draft and the reason I did this one is because I think some team is going to want that 5th year option on quarterback Jordan Love so it gives them an extra year. I think the Colts are a really good fit for him as well because the signed Phillip Rivers to only a one-year deal and can have Love sit behind him for a year to learn. This trade with the 49ers makes sense as well because the 49ers are tied for the fewest draft picks this year and could be looking to add a few more. Here all they do is move back to pick 34 and will add a Day 3 pick as well. They’ll most likely be taking a lot of calls for this pick and for me I moved the Colts here. Love is a prospect that a lot of people have been split on because of his big arm, playmaking ability but also his accuracy issues. I think if he can sit for at least a year behind a veteran quarterback and learn it will be very helpful for when he becomes a starter. He has been getting some comparisons to Patrick Mahomes and if Mahomes can sit for a season, so can Love.
  32. Kansas City Chiefs: Jaylon Johnson, CB – Utah
    • Team Needs: CB, RB, LB, DT
    • Same pick for the reigning world champs to end the first round as the Chiefs need help in the secondary as they pieced it together throughout the season. They relied heavily on Patrick Mahomes to bail them out and just score more points than the other team. It obviously worked out alright as they ended as Super Bowl Champions, but now they have a chance to upgrade the position and Johnson can start as their number one corner right away. He can even move inside to cover the slot position if needed as well. This is a fantastic pickup for the reigning champs at a position that really needs attention.

That is the end of my analysis for my round one picks in my second mock draft this year. I will choose a couple of teams to add analysis on in the second round which will mostly be teams that didn’t have a first-round pick to explain what they were able to do without having a first-round pick. I don’t expect my second-round picks to necessarily be as accurate as my first-round projections. The second round is supposed to help prove my reasoning for choosing my first-round selections on why teams will go in one direction over another.

Round 2

  1. Cincinnati Bengals: Cesar Ruiz, IOL – Michigan
  2. San Francisco 49ers (via Indianapolis Colts): AJ Terrell, CB – Clemson
  3. Detroit Lions: Ross Blacklock, DT – TCU
  4. New York Giants: Ezra Cleveland, OT – Boise St.
    • Dave Gettleman gets his offensive lineman here early in the second round after taking the swiss army knife Isaiah Simmons with the 4th overall pick. Cleveland tested very well at the combine athletically and can help protect 2nd year quarterback Daniel Jones while also creating running lanes for Saquon Barkley. This would be a fantastic start to the Giants draft I believe if they can land the most versatile defender than grab a potential anchor along their offensive line.
  5. Los Angeles Chargers: Isaiah Wilson, OT – Georgia
  6. Carolina Panthers: Grant Delpit, S – LSU
  7. Miami Dolphins: Jonathan Taylor, RB – Wisconsin
    • No running backs in the first round, so Jonathan Taylor comes off the board here early in the second round. The Dolphins grabbed their franchise quarterback, a top pass rusher, and their potential blindside protector. Now they can start adding weapons on their offense and they can start with a workhorse at running back in Taylor. Not only did he have historic production in college but he tested at the top of the running back class at the combine. At his size, it was incredible to watch him run under a 4.4 40-yard dash. The Dolphins can pair their new QB with Taylor and Devante Parker and have a decent trio for 2nd year head coach Brian Flores to work with.
  8. Houston Texans: Tee Higgins, WR – Clemson
    • The Texans traded their first-round pick this year for left tackle Larmey Tunsil to the Dolphins last year and got this pick from the Cardinals when they confusingly gave away DeAndre Hopkins. Somehow, they didn’t get a first-round pick in return but either way here they are. Even after the Texans traded for Brandin Cooks from the Rams I think the Texans could still draft a wide receiver here. They have a lot of speed at the position, now they can get a big body to go up and get jump balls in the endzone. Also, Cooks has a history of concussions which the Texans can protect themselves here from by bringing in Higgins. It will help ease the loss a little bit of Hopkins and hopefully make quarterback Deshaun Watson a little happier as well.
  9. Cleveland Browns: Antoine Winfield Jr., S – Minnesota
  10. Jacksonville Jaguars: Terrell Lewis, Pass Rusher – Alabama
  11. Chicago Bears: Noah Igbinoghene, CB – Auburn
    • The Bears have had an interesting offseason so far, culminating in the trade they made to bring in Nick Foles as a challenger to Mitch Trubisky so that will be a fun story to watch this offseason, if we have one. Either way the Bears could use another defensive back after losing Prince Amukamara and HaHa Clinton Dix this offseason. Noah Igbinoghene could come in and be the number two corner behind Kyle Fuller and bring some depth back to the position. The defense has taken a step back since they won the NFC North two years ago now. They need the secondary to step up as they have Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks, and newly signed Robert Quinn getting after the quarterback now.
  12. Indianapolis Colts: Jalen Reagor, WR – TCU
  13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Deandre Swift, RB – Georgia
  14. Denver Broncos: Lucas Niang, OT – TCU
  15. Atlanta Falcons: Neville Gallimore, DT – Oklahoma
  16. New York Jets: Laviska Shenault, WR – Colorado
    • This is where the Jets can grab a top tier wide receiver in this draft after taking one of the big four tackles with their first-round pick. Higgins may be available here as well which will give them their pick of the litter between a lot of really good receivers. Shenault has fallen a little bit in this draft due to some injury history that he has had and performed below expectations at the combine. The Jets can get a versatile offensive player in Shenault, a guy that can help move the chains for them, similar to what Deebo Samuel does for the San Francisco. He can take handoffs on end arounds and, line up anywhere out wide and is best when the ball is in his hands. He’ll be a big-time playmaker for the Jets offense and helps Sam Darnold in more ways than one.
  17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Marlon Davidson, DT – Auburn
    • The Steelers used their first-round pick to get Minkah Fitzpatrick this past season which seemed to work out pretty well. Now they can add the finishing touch on their defense by adding Marlon Davidson up the middle. TJ Watt off the edge, Devin Bush flying sideline to sideline, Fitzpatrick patrolling the backend and Davidson up the middle gives the Steelers a really good start at rebuilding the Iron Curtain defense they once had.
  18. Chicago Bears: Lloyd Cushenberry III, IOL – LSU
  19. Dallas Cowboys: Curtis Weaver, Pass Rusher – Boise St.
  20. Los Angeles Rams: Joshua Uche, Pass Rusher – Michigan
  21. Philadelphia Eagles: Jeremy Chinn, S – Southern Illinois
  22. Buffalo Bills: Julian Okwara, Pass Rusher – Notre Dame
  23. Baltimore Ravens: Jonah Jackson, IOL – Ohio St.
  24. Miami Dolphins: J. Hamler, WR – Penn St.
  25. Los Angeles Rams: K. Dobbins, RB – Ohio St.
  26. Minnesota Vikings: Raekwon Davis, DT – Alabama
  27. Seattle Seahawks: Prince Tega Wanogho, OT – Auburn
  28. Baltimore Ravens: Donavan Peoples Jones, WR – Michigan
  29. Tennessee Titans: Davon Hamilton, DT – Ohio St.
  30. Green Bay Packers: Brandon Aiyuk, WR – Arizona St.
    • There has been a lot of recent hype around Aiyuk and there is now talk of him working his way into the first-round if there is a run on wide receivers early in this draft. I put him here because I think he would be a fantastic fit with the Packers and a perfect complement to Davante Adams for Aaron Rodgers. If the Packers want him, they may have to take him at 30 but for this exercise he falls to the Packers here. The Packers need help on the offense outside of Adams and Aaron Jones and Aiyuk can be that help. He is fantastic after the catch and can be the explosive receiver the Packers are looking for out of the slot.
